Black Sheep Romanov Farm is a family farm founded in the village of Brzan (Šumadija) with a clear vision: breeding and promotion of top quality Romanov sheep. Over time, we grew from a small herd to a farm with about 100 head and became a recognizable name for Romanov sheep in central Serbia.
Our journey started out of love for animals and the tradition of sheep farming. We have combined traditional values with modern farming methods, creating a farm we are proud of. We especially emphasize that we were among the first in the region to introduce the Czech line of Romanov sheep, known for its exceptional productivity. The mother herd was imported from the Czech Republic from renowned breeders to ensure top genetic potential on our farm.
Brzano, with its mild climate and rich pastures, provides ideal conditions for sheep breeding. Our facilities are designed to fit the sheep – spacious, clean and well ventilated, providing comfort and protection throughout the year. We take care of nutrition (quality hay, cereals, minerals) every day and regularly monitor the health of the herd with professional veterinary support. This is how we keep the sheep healthy and the lambs strong from the very beginning.
The goal of our farm is twofold: the production of high-quality breeding heads for further breeding and fattening lambs of superior meat quality. We keep or sell only the best lambs for breeding, while the rest go to fattening and the meat market through proven channels. In this way, we ensure sustainability and quality throughout the entire production cycle. We want Romanov sheep to become a synonym for profitable and sustainable livestock production in our region and beyond.
When you ask us who we are – the answer is simple: enthusiasts and dedicated breeders who believe in the potential of the Romanov breed. Every new lamb is a success for us, and every satisfied customer is an incentive to continue improving the genetic pool and the quality of our farm. Thank you for following our story and for spreading the benefits of the Romanov sheep together!
